Both the Hel and Topping also offer other features some of which I think are neat and some I don't have any use for. The former offers a whopping 200 mW at 300hms which is way past what the calculator says is "painful" volumes. I would consider upgrading to the Hel or Topping DX3 Pro+ for the extra power. Isn't this sufficient? For the record, I don't listen to headphones at very high volumes. I know values are subjective but using this calculator, it says I would need 16.73 mW of power for "fairly loud" listening volume and 52.8 mW for "very loud" volumes. I looked up the specs of the 6XX and I hope this is correct: I know the main criticism of it is that it's not powerful enough to power (high impedance) headphones. I am not looking to spend a lot so my first thought was the Schiit Fulla. I also want a dedicated headphone port and a pre-out to send the signal to my powered speakers. I'd prefer to bypass the onboard DAC and headphone port of the MBP. I want a headphone + DAC combo to hook up to my Macbook Pro. I don't do as much listening anymore but I recently was gifted some powered studio monitors that I am using with my work from home setup. I used to be heavy in the Head-Fi for years but haven't really kept up with things. Hi, I have a very specific use case that I am looking for some help with.
